What is SEO?

You have a website. You want it to show up on Google. Not in the "sponsored links" section, but in the real, legit search results. After all, when you look for something online, chances are great you use a search engine.

Sorry - you can't pay Google for a search result. But it's not magic. There's a method to the madness, and that's where SEO comes into play.

Basically, the search engines send around little robots to visit every webpage they can find, and try to figure out what it's about. The data is sent back to the search engine, where it analyzes and stores everything so it can instantly figure out what pages match a search.

Sound complicated? It's actually gotten even more complicated as the web has matured, and while search engines like Google and Yahoo keep their formulas a closely guarded secret, search engine optimization firms are continuously trying to keep ahead of the game with research.

How much will it cost?

My fee structure is hourly - I typically charge for a set number of hours per month that we will dedicate to your SEO campaign. I find that the bare minimum to see results for a small site is about 6 hours per month, while larger sites command more hours - up to 25 or more per month if you have a dynamic shopping cart and dozens of products. Of course, more hours to start means faster improvements!
